I fell in love with the Treecko line when ORAS came out. Before that, I didn't like Treecko because I thought he was ugly. How could I think that? Yes, I admit, he is not the most "beautiful" Pokemon. Still, he is very cute in his own way, and, as the Pokedex says, calm and collected. I love his toes and the notion that he is a gecko and climbs trees. Grovyle is just extremely cool and probably earns the medal for the coolest starter middle evo. Sceptile is just perfect. Similar to the way I love Charizard, I just love Sceptile's overall design and appearance and his personality. He is my buddy in Alpha Sapphire, and his mega evolution is absolutely beautiful.
I never actually intended to collect the Treecko line in the beginning, but I kept picking up merch, so I guess this is now a mini side collection. I'll continue picking up my favorite stuff, though I don't wanna go all crazy about it. |
Treecko Lifesize Pokemon Center Plush
Release: Japan, Pokemon Center, 2014
Material: Minky Found: ebay, 2015 This plush was the reason I started to like Treecko! When I saw this plush, I thought to myself "Oh, this is really cute in a way", and not long after that, this plush was on my wants list. When I finally ordered him, that was about one of the most exciting times waiting for a plush in the mail ever. When he finally arrived, I was so happy! I absolutely love this plush. They gave him exactly that cute look with the round snout that I like about Treecko (more than the slightly more pointed snout). I named this Treecko "Elliot" after my in-game starter Treecko in my Alpha Sapphire game, who is now a Sceptile. I also removed his tag, for it was sure from the beginning that this plush was meant for the cuddles. I had been searching for a bigger cuddle plush at that time, and Treecko was just the perfect opportunity, you just can hug him so perfectly! <3 This is definitely among the top 10 of my favorite plush in my whole collection. |
Treecko Canvas Plush
Release: Japan, Pokemon Center, 2011
Material: Minky Found: pkmncollectors, 2015 This little guy is very special to me! I got him from a very lovely member on pkmncollectors together with my Charmander canvas plush (the one you have already seen in my Charmander collection). As already said, both of them have red bandanas in order to represent the previous owner's Mystery Dungeon team. When I purchased them, I originally just wanted to get the Charmander, but then I simply had to pick up Treecko too, and I am so glad I did, so they can stay together! They are like best friends to me <3 The Treecko canvas plush is just incredibly well-done and such a beautiful and cute plush. I immediately fell in love with him when I got him and couldn't put it out of my hand for quite a while haha. I love to imagine Treecko being that small in reality, which just makes me wanna squeal. <3 |
Treecko Secret Base Pokedoll
Release: Japan, Pokemon Center, 2014
Material: Minky Found: pkmncollectors, 2015 What a little cutie! This plush was part of a trade on the pkmncollectors community. I love his vivid colors as well as his adorable grumpy face and rediculously round snout. Secret Base Pokedolls are newer Pokedoll designs based on the Pokedolls you can put in your secret bases in the Alpha and Sapphire rereleases. What bugs me is that they are bigger than the original ones, but oh well, it's still a super cute plush. |
Treecko Hasbro Plush
Release: USA, Hasbro,
Material: Minky Found: pkmncollectors, 2015 This little guy was also part of the same trade mentioned above. I love how his pose is a little more unique and gecko-y. His whole appearance, if you really think about it, is a bit more "realistic"-looking and especially his mouth looks more gecko-like. The laying pose is especially cute and brings out Treecko's adorable feetsies and toes quite a bit more. It also reminds me of the way Treecko crawls in the Mystery Dungeon games. |
Sceptile Pokedoll
Release: USA, 2005
Material: Velboa Found: pkmncollectors 2015 I never expected to find this guy so all of a sudden. It turned up on the community in a sales post and one of my dear friends (you know who you are ^^) let me know about it. Funnily, said friend and I managed to get our Sceptile Pokedolls, our grails, at the same time which was absolutely amazing! :D I got an amazing deal on this Sceptile too which I am super happy about, considering the price inflatation Pokedolls have gone through recently. I absolutely adore this Pokedoll! Definitely one of my all time favorites, not only Pokedoll but plush in general. Sceptile, as you can see in my collections, is one of my all time favorite Pokemon, and his Pokedoll design is just perfect and one of the best yet in my opinion. I just wanna cuddle and squish him all day long. Love his embroidered eyes and absolutely cute mouth, and especially his very well done tail. This Pokedoll is just amazing qualitywise (even his arm and tail leaves are double-sided and not just single flat fabric parts). A standard I suppose newer Pokedolls won't get to ever again. |
Mega Sceptile Pokemon Center Plush
Release: Japan, 2014
Material: Minky Found: pkmncollectors, 2015 Description: This plush is absolutely fabulous looking and high quality. I absolutely love mega Sceptile's design and this plush did perfect on it for its size. It's a part of the mega Pokemon series released by the Pokemon Center. I especially love the fruits on his back and his long tail. What's even better, I aquired this plush for an awesome price in a trade for a drawing. If you collect Sceptile, you will need this plush in your collection! |
Sceptile Tomy Figure
Release: Japan, Takara Tomy, 2005
Found: pkmncollectors, 2015 This figure is pretty cool. Just look at Sceptile's hilarious facial expression. :D It's so cool and yet a bit silly. I absolutely love the colors on this figure. Being so slim and made up of many small parts, the figure is very delicate and bendable though, and it also turns out to look relatively small compared to other Tomy figures. |
