Charizard
Release: Japan, 2012 Material: Minky Found: Sunyshore, 2013 This is one of my favorite Pokedolls! Together with Mewtwo, it was also my first one, and I remember I was surprised at how small he was. I love his little wings especially. Now he is wearing a golden bell and looks like a gangster with his bling bling :D |
Butterfree
Hermione Release: USA, 2006 Material: Velboa Found: Ebay, 2013 This was the first rare Pokedoll that I got. I won her on ebay in a bit of a bid war, and it was more or less an impulse buy. I love her floppy wings. To me, Butterfree is one of the best Pokedoll designs and she is one of my favorite Pokedolls. This one has neither tush nor hang tag and is a bit loved. |
Raichu
Release: Japan, 2012 Material: Minky Found: pkmncollectors, 2013 Since Raichus have skyrocketed in price recently, I am so happy I got mine for a great deal a while ago. And it was already a deal even before Raichu had become so expensive. This is hands down one of my favorite Pokedolls ever. Raichu is very chubby, and I love chubby Pokedolls. I love her soft belly and tiny feet too. Also part of my Raichu collection. |
Mewtwo
Release: Japan, 2013 Material: Minky Found: Sunyshore, 2013 Mewtwo, along with Charizard, was my first Pokedoll. In my opinion, they did a great job on his design. He has a cute grumpy face and I love how they managed to reduce his arms and feet to the most basic form. His belly and tail are a fabric change from minky to some kind of rough felty material which is kinda meh when it comes to how it feels, but it also adds to the overall design. |
Cyndaquil
Release: USA, 2010 Material: Minky Found: pkmncollectors, 2014 This little fellow is unique for a Pokedoll because unlike many others, it's super flat. I especially like Cyndaquil with the flames not out. I actually like the Pokedoll more than Cyndaquil's standard design as his snout is shorter and makes him look especially cute. I love this little thing so much, especially his cute fat butt. It's also one of my favorites. |
Phanpy
Release: USA, 2005 Material: Velboa Found: ebay, 2015 As of the end of 2015, this was the last rare Pokedoll on my wants list that had a high priority meaning that I absolutely wanted to get. I didn't expect at all to find him so quickly! I needed to raise money by selling a bunch of stuff and paid an arm and a leg for it - the most I ever spent on a Pokedoll or even plush in general. It's so worth it! Phanpy is super cute and actually one of my favorite Pokemon as well as Pokedolls. It's super high quality, as it is the case with most of the older Pokedolls. I just overall love his cute design and tiny feet. This is definitely one of the gems of my Pokedoll collection and Pokemon collection as a whole. |
Sceptile
Release: USA, 2005 Material: Velboa Found: pkmncollectors 2015 I never expected to find this guy so all of a sudden. It turned up on the community in a sales post and one of my dear friends (you know who you are ^^) let me know about it. Funnily, said friend and I managed to get our Sceptile Pokedolls, our grails, at the same time which was absolutely amazing! :D I got an amazing deal on this Sceptile too which I am super happy about, considering the price inflatation Pokedolls have gone through recently. I absolutely adore this Pokedoll! Definitely one of my all time favorites, not only Pokedoll but plush in general. Sceptile, as you can see in my collections, is one of my all time favorite Pokemon, and his Pokedoll design is just perfect and one of the best yet in my opinion. I just wanna cuddle and squish him all day long. Love his embroidered eyes and absolutely cute mouth, and especially his very well done tail. This Pokedoll is just amazing qualitywise (even his arm and tail leaves are double-sided and not just single flat fabric parts). A standard I suppose newer Pokedolls won't get to ever again. |
Altaria
Release: USA, 2006 Material: Velboa Found: pkmncollectors, 2014 This has been a semi-grail for me for quite a long time and I was super happy when I found her! She came all the way from Australia. I actually prefer Altaria's Pokedoll design over her standard one. The head feathers are detached from her head, unlike it should normally be, but I love it like that because they're floppy and I love floppy things :D She has such a cute face, too! Definitely one of my favorites by far! |
Duskull
Oscar Release: Japan, 2009 (?) Material: Minky Found: Yahoo Japan, 2014 I love Duskull's Pokedoll design. The bone pattern on his back is very special about this Pokedoll and his pose reminds me of an old lady :D He is probably one of the most well-excecuted Pokedolls when it comes to plush quality. |
Latias
Larry Release: Japan, 2006 Material: Minky Found: pkmncollectors, 2014 I absolutely love the Lati duo as Pokedolls, even more so than their original designs. They did a perfect job simplifying their shapes. I named Latias "Larry" because I don't like gender stereotypes. I named Latias, who is normally considered female, a male name in honor of a student named Larry King who was shot by one of his classmates because she was transgender. This is not meant to say that transgender people are in reality another gender while having the names of the opposite genders, though (so Larry King was biologically a boy, but her gender identity was female, and as far as I remember, she also chose a female name for herself). I just wanted to name Latias "Larry" as a reminder that gender identity and gender expression (how you look on the outside) are not the same. So technically, my Latias is a boy, but he presents himself femininely on the outside! Another possibility would be for him to be gender fluid, meaning that his gender identity is not fix, but constantly switches between different genders. |
Kyogre
Rosemarie Release: USA, 2010 Material: Velboa Found: pkmncollectors, 2014 Yet another perfect Pokedoll design, turning an originally fearsome sea monster into a cute grumpy little blue bubble. I love Rosemary. The velboa material used for the 2010 Pokedolls feels a little different than the one on the older Pokedolls, and unfortunately, like less quality. Nevertheless, it's very smooth and silky. |
Mantyke
Brötchen Release: USA, 2006 Material: Velboa Found: pkmncollectors, 2013 This was one of my first community gets and I got him for an awesome price. He is in slightly loved condition so I took him with me as my travel buddy a lot. I just adore his cute face and compactness. n_n I don't care for Mantyke itself too much, but I love his Pokedoll! |
Croagunkg
Release: Japan, ?? Material: Minky Found: Yahoo Japan, 2014 Actually, I don't like Croagunk so much, but the Pokedoll is strangely cute. This was a total impulse buy, but I'm glad I got him, just look at his cute mouth and eyes. <3 He is huge compared to other more smaller Pokedolls like Butterfree. Along with Mantyke, this is the only gen4 Pokedoll I own. |
Fennekin
Release: Japan, 2014 Material: Minky Found: Yahoo Japan, 2014 I have a soft spot for Fennekin, so I had to get the Pokdoll. It's so tiny and cute. The ears are amazing and sooo soft. Sometimes, I take out Fennekin just to pet her ears because they are so fun to squeeze lol. I love the way they did the ears with the two-layered fabric, but also the puffy tail. These are what really makes this plush imo. |
Greninja
Release: Japan, 2014 Material: Minky Found: pkmncollectors, 2015 This is an oversized Pokedoll. I absolutely love Greninja and this Pokedoll. I raised a Froakie to a Greninja in Alpha Sapphire, and he became my buddy and best team member. I absolutely love Greninja's design. The downsides of this plush are his low-quality fabrics in some parts as with his webs between the toes and the white patches on his arms and stars on his legs - they are made of some kind of vinyl-like fabric which is not so nice in my opinion. Even the black thin lines on his back are made with this instead of being sewn on. Other than that though, this plush is great. |
Helioptile
Release: Japan, 2014 Material: Minky Found: sunyshore, 2014 This little guy is incredibly cute and I love the way they chibified him. I even have two of these little lizards, one of them being one of my cuddle buddies. The ears of this Pokedoll are incredibly silky and soft, and his sitting pose and cute feet are to die for. Helioptile is one of my favorite gen6 Pokemon too. |
